Continuous Networking (aka Lunch)

Continuous networking is all about getting out and connecting with friends and colleagues. We all have to eat. Lunch is a great time to do some continuous networking.

I took a friend of mine out to lunch the other day. It had been several months since I last saw him. We talked. We ate our lunch. Then, in so many words, he asked me what I wanted. I think he was a bit surprised when I told him that I just wanted to get together and spend some time with him (which was true).

I’m a strong advocate for continuous networking. One of the easiest ways to continuously network is to take a colleague out to lunch. For no reason. Ask for nothing. Ask what you might do for them. You will always end up with a stronger relationship. A better friend.

P.S. – If you want to continuously network but don’t know how to start, why not start by taking me out to lunch 🙂
